Master’s degree programs are full-time and typically last for 2-3 years, requiring candidates to have a bachelor’s degree or meet the requirements for equivalent academic qualifications. Doctoral programs are also full-time, with a general duration of four years for doctoral candidates and five years for direct doctoral candidates from undergraduate programs. The maximum duration of study is an additional three years beyond the prescribed duration, and other details are governed by the university’s regulations on graduate student status management. Applicants for doctoral programs must have written recommendations from two professors (or experts with equivalent professional technical titles) and must meet one of the following conditions: be an incoming master’s graduate with a degree recognized by the state, have already obtained a master’s or doctoral degree, or be an individual with equivalent academic ability (limited to applying for academic doctoral programs only). Applicants for postdoctoral positions are required to be under the age of 35, have obtained a Ph.D. degree within the past three years, or be recent Ph.D. graduates who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis.

硕士研究生为全日制学习方式，学习年限为2-3年，需具有本科学历或符合同等学力要求。博士研究生学习方式为全日制，学制一般为4年，本科直博生一般为5年，最长学习年限为规定学制加3年，其他按学校研究生学籍管理规定执行。博士研究生申请者需两名教授（或相当专业技术职称的专家）的书面推荐，以及具备以下条件之一：国家承认学历的应届硕士毕业生、已获硕士或博士学位人员、同等学力人员（只可报考学术学位博士研究生）。硕士研究生、博士研究生的其它相关详细报考条件、招生流程与方式等可参阅华南理工大学研究生招生网上公布的相关信息。

申请博士后岗位者，要求年龄在35周岁以下，获得博士学位不超过3年的博士，或通过博士学位论文答辩的应届博士。

Master’s student Benefits | 硕士生待遇:

The university offers a “Research Assistantship Scholarship” for full-time master’s students who are not under an employment directive, which amounts to 18,000 RMB per person per year. In addition, the Ministry of Education has established the “National Graduate Scholarship” to reward graduate students with outstanding performance. Furthermore, the university has set up a variety of scholarships funded by corporate donations. Graduate students facing financial difficulties can obtain financial aid to complete their studies by applying for the “National Credit-based Student Loan” and the “On-campus National Student Loan,” as well as by taking on roles as teaching assistants, research assistants, or administrative assistants for graduate students.

学校对全日制非定向就业硕士研究生设有“助研岗位奖学金”，为每人18000人民币/年。同时，教育部设有“研究生国家奖学金”，用于奖励表现优异的研究生。此外，学校还设有各类企业捐赠奖学金。家庭经济困难研究生可通过申请“生源地国家信用助学贷款”和“校园地国家助学贷款”、担任研究生三助（助教、助研、研管）岗位等方式获得资助完成学业。

The university has established scholarships such as the “President’s Scholarship,” “Research Assistantship Scholarship,” and “Teaching Assistantship Scholarship” for non-directed employment doctoral students, with a minimum funding standard of 58,200 RMB per person per year.

学校对非定向就业博士研究生设立“校长奖学金”“助研岗位奖学金”“助教岗位奖学金”等，资助标准最低为每年58200元/人。
